Winter Park and Maitland are two of Central Florida’s most established communities, each offering its own character, lifestyle and range of residential options — all within easy reach of Orlando.
Winter Park is known for its historic charm, tree-lined streets, lakes, cultural attractions and walkable areas filled with locally owned shops and restaurants. Housing ranges from historic homes and established neighborhoods to condominiums, townhomes, newer construction and luxury properties.
Neighboring Maitland has its own identity, with established neighborhoods, beautiful lakes and parks, and convenient access to major employment centers and roadways. Buyers will find everything from older homes with character to updated properties, condominiums and newer construction — often just minutes from Winter Park and Orlando.

The Winter Park and Maitland real estate markets can vary considerably by neighborhood, property type, age of the home, location, and proximity to the features that make each community distinctive. Winter Park is one of those places that looks and feels different from most of Central Florida almost immediately. Brick streets, enormous trees, beautiful old homes, lakes, museums, Rollins College and Park Avenue all contribute to that identity. The city itself highlights its tree canopy, brick streets, Chain of Lakes and Park Avenue as defining features.
You can have lunch on Park Avenue, walk through Central Park, visit the The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, wander through Rollins College, or see an entirely different side of Winter Park from the Scenic Boat Tour as it travels through the lakes and narrow canals.
Winter Park has polish, but it also has history—and you can see both.
Maitland sometimes gets overshadowed by Winter Park next door, which isn’t entirely fair. It’s one of Central Florida’s older communities in its own right, with established neighborhoods, lakes and some genuinely quirky cultural landmarks.
The Art & History Museums of Maitland includes the historic Maitland Art Center, founded as an artists’ colony in 1937 and known for its unusual architecture. And Enzian Theater—home of the Florida Film Festival—is one of those places longtime Orlando residents tend to know immediately.
